Oakling is a co-extruded WPC board — hardwood fibre core, HDPE matrix, and a 0.8 mm co-extruded polymer cap. At 12 mm thick and 1.77 kg per linear metre it is the lighter of our two cladding profiles, and that is what makes it workable overhead: a 2.9 m board is a one-person lift on a ceiling or soffit, where a heavier facade board is not.
Formaldehyde emission is not detected under EN 717-1, so the same board is used for internal feature walls and ceiling lining as well as external soffits and low-rise facades.
It delivers the warmth and texture of real timber on any facade — without the cracking, peeling paint, or costly maintenance cycle that follows.

The board features a co-extruded polymer cap layer measuring 0.8 mm — thicker than many competing cladding products available on the Australian market. For wall cladding applications, this cap is critical: it acts as the board’s primary barrier against UV degradation, moisture ingress, staining, and surface cracking — eliminating the need for periodic repainting that fibre cement and timber cladding both require.
The cap layer is stabilised with a dual-system UV package combining Hindered Amine Light Stabilisers (HALS) with UV absorbers. Under QUV accelerated weathering testing, boards achieved a colour difference of ΔE ≤ 4–5 after 3,000 hours of exposure — a performance benchmark that matters significantly in a country with some of the highest UV index readings on Earth.
The composite core contains no exposed cellulose, making it structurally immune to termite attack — a persistent risk for timber-clad buildings across Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.
Oakling is tested and certified to international standards. The reports below are supplied with every order and available on request beforehand. Australian standard testing status, and the building classes Oakling can and cannot be specified on, are set out immediately below this table.

DecoGroove is 219 × 20 mm at 2.41 kg/lm with a wide shadow groove and suits full external facades and large elevations. Same colour palette, same cap layer, same 20-year warranty — many projects use DecoGroove on the facade and Oakling on the soffits in the same colour.
